Leith is one of the busiest areas we cover, and one of the most varied. A tenement flat off Leith Walk and a two-year-old apartment at Western Harbour have almost nothing in common technically, and the advice for each is different.
We work across both, along with the terraces and converted industrial buildings in between. Being based in Portobello puts us a short run along the coast, so Leith jobs do not sit in a queue waiting for a trip into town.

The tenement stock is the defining feature. Communal stairs, shared risers, restricted flue positions and a factor who has a say in anything touching the common parts. Practically, that means a boiler swap in a Leith flat is often less about the boiler and more about where the flue can legally terminate and who has to agree to it.
